July 2020 - Rose Alimo gets a new prosthetic leg from sale of her goats
Goat Project keeps changing lives long after beneficiaries leave the project!!!
Rose Alimo sold some of her goats and bought a new prosthetic leg!!!!
We graduated Rose Alimo out of the project in July 2019 with 8 goats. She sold some to educate her kids and the rest kept reproducing. In March 2020, just before Covid 19 lock down was declared, she sold some of her goats, traveled to Lacor Hospital in Gulu and acquired a new prosthetic leg. See the joy on her face with the new leg! She still has 8 goats. Her current plan is to keep breeding her goats to 15 (which shouldn't take long), then sell a good number of them, maybe 10, and buy a cow!!! Awesome!
Rose was abducted by the Lord's Resistance Army rebels when she was 13. She managed to escape but lost a leg in the fracas. Later she married but unfortunately her husband was murdered, leaving her with 6 young children. The Goat Project gifted her with one goat back in 2015. That one goat proved to be a lifeline that continues to bless her and her kids up to now ...
