The Swanson Family Center added 20 new beneficiaries to the program. These will go on to regift 2 goats each within 3 years, for an outreach of 60 families in the next few years!
Regifting goats: Each beneficiary in the program will grow her herd to at least 7 goats, and give 2 of them to other women so that they can join the program. In this way, each woman gets to participate in the blessing of gifting a significant financial blessing to their neighbors. This is a special ceremony in the program, as Peter helps each woman regift her goats. On this trip, Peter regifted 49 goats from 5 existing centers. We are so excited about this part of the program.
Success Story from the Aiperi center: By the time Christine received a goat 3 years ago, her husband had abandoned her in the house. He took spent seven years away in Kampala and retuned to find her doing very well with her goat program. She had used the goats to purchase a cow and a pig, who in turn provided 12 pigs and enough money to purchase a bicycle. She has retained 2 goats. The program has provided financial stability and security for her family. Christine is the chairperson of the GoatProject in her village and continues to help other women in her community with their goat progress. Two other women in the community have also purchased cows.
